Dallas Police release video showing Elizabeth Hairstylist on night of her murder

Dallas Police is continuing to ask for the public's assistance in the investigation of the murder of Elizabeth Lightfoot. Today a video was released showing her entering a Tom Thumb (notably to buy ramen noodles ) on the night of her disappearance and death in North Dallas.

The 22-year-old hair stylist was found dead inside her burning car in the 16000 block of Preston Road at about 2 a.m. on November 4th. Additional information received by the Police Department indicates Ms. Lightfoot was seen at about midnight at Tom Thumb, located at 14999 Preston Road. A video from the Tom Thumb along with a still picture from the video is included showing what Ms. Lightfoot was wearing on the night she was murdered.

Around 2:30 a.m. last Friday, Lightfoot's car was found in a ravine behind the business on fire. When the flames were put out... her body was found in the driver's seat.

"We believe someone intentionally set the car on fire with her in it while she was still alive", said Senior Corporal Kevin Janse with the Dallas Police Department.

Janse says Lightfoot died from inhaling carbon monoxide fumes from the fire.

"Why she couldn't get out of the vehicle, we don't know if she was a unconscious or what but we feel someone intentionally set that car on fire which ultimately caused her death", he said.

Lightfoot worked at "Salon Republic" as a stylist. The salon is about a mile from where her body was found.

Just hours before her murder, she had been out with friends to a restaurant.

But at the end of the night she left alone. Police are trying to determine if she met up with some or if she was targeted.

"That's something the detectives are going to try to figure out as far as who was last seen with her or who she may have called but as far as right now, we are not sure if she did know her attacker or not", Janse said.

Police are also trying to track down surveillance video to see if they can retrace Lightfoot’s movements leading up to her death.
