Reward offered in hair stylist's death is increased to $15,000

DALLAS - Dallas police hope a $15,000 reward will help them catch whoever killed a 22-year-old hairstylist in far North Dallas last week.
Oak Farms Dairy is offering the reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect or suspects responsible for Elizabeth Lightfoot's death.
Lightfoot's body was found in the driver's seat of a burning car early Friday morning beside a small strip center in the 16000 block of Preston Rd., between Arapaho and Keller Springs Roads.
Police announced Monday that Lightfoot was still alive when her car was set on fire and shoved in a small ravine. Lightfoot's official cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning caused by the fire, according to the medical examiner.
The crime scene is less than two miles from Salon Republic, her workplace at 14999 Preston Road. Lightfoot had gone out with friends to a restaurant a few hours before, but police are still trying to find out what happened before her body was found about 2 a.m.

The Dallas Police Department announced Thursday that Crime Stoppers has allocated $5,000 on top of the $10,000 already put up by Oak Farms Dairy.

Lightfoot, 22, was found dead inside her burning car at 2 a.m. Nov. 4 in the 16000 block of Preston Road. It looked as if someone had tried to push her silver Mazda sedan into a ravine that runs behind a real estate office.

Lightfoot was last seen about midnight in a Tom Thumb store at the intersection of Preston Road and Belt Line Road. Anone with information is asked to call Dallas homicide detective Dwayne Thompson at 214-671-3662.
