Man charged in pizzeria robbery, and more

Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Subway restaurant on South Randall Road in Batavia on Nov. 23 at 8:40 p.m. The man showed a black, semi-automatic pistol and demanded cash from the register.


Two rings valued at $4,500 were stolen from a house in the 1400 block of Newton Avenue sometime between Nov. 18 and Nov. 19.


Twenty mailboxes at various addresses throughout the city of Batavia were reported damaged in the last week.
Paintings and a rug were reported stolen from an apartment in the 1000 block of East Wilson Street. The door to the apartment was kicked in.


A pair of coral earrings, a pair of black pearl earrings and a stainless steel watch were reported stolen from a car sometime between Nov.14 and Nov. 19.


A designer purse containing a matching coin purse and notebook were stolen from a car parked at Provena Care Center, 1101 E. State St., on Nov. 23. The passenger side window to the car was shattered.


A woman’s wallet and phone were stolen from her purse that she had left in a waiting room at Delnor Community Hospital, 300 S. Randall Rd., while she made coffee in an adjacent room. The items were valued at $400. The theft occurred on Nov. 23.


An iPhone was stolen in the 1200 block of South Naper Boulevard between 9:15 p.m. Nov. 22 and 10 p.m. Nov. 22.
A thief switched the price tag of an item at a store in the 500 block of Fort Hill Drive about 10:38 a.m. Nov. 23 and paid a lower price for the item.
A person carried a sack of potatoes valued at $40 out of a business in the 0-99 block of East Chicago Avenue without paying for it about 2:10 a.m. Nov. 26.
A 25-year-old man from the 1600 block of Wehrli Road was arrested about 2:23 a.m. Nov. 26 in the 0-099 block of East Chicago Avenue and charged with retail theft.
A 29-year-old man from the 700 block of Downer, Aurora, was arrested at 6:37 p.m. Nov. 27 at Wal-Mart, 776 S. Route 59, and charged with retail theft and obstructing identification.


A cab driver spit in the face of another person in the 600 block of South Washington Street about 10:41 p.m. Nov. 23.
A man punched another man in the face causing injury to his nose in the 0-99 block of West Jefferson Avenue about 1 a.m. Nov. 24.
A 13-year-old was battered by an unknown male over a video game at Wal-Mart, 776 S. Route 59, between 9:45 and 10 p.m. Nov. 24. There were no serious injuries.
An intoxicated person struck a bar security guard in the 0-99 block of West Chicago Avenue about 12:26 a.m. Nov. 27.
A 24-year-old man from the 2100 block of Pepperwood Lane, Glendale Heights, was arrested at 12:43 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 0-99 block of West Chicago Avenue and charged with battery.
A 57-year-old man from the 500 block of East Bailey Road was arrested about 3:20 p.m. Nov. 25 in the 1500 block of West Jefferson Avenue and charged with two counts of domestic battery and one each of resisting an officer and knowingly damaging property.
A 41-year-old man from the 3S500 block of Burke Avenue, Warrenville, was arrested at 2:16 a.m. Nov. 28 in the 400 block of East Ogden Avenue and charged with two counts of battery.




A 23-year-old woman from the 300 block of Park Ridge Lane, Aurora, was arrested at 10:20 p.m. Nov. 26 in the 1300 block of Aurora Avenue and charged with fighting.
Damage


A pumpkin was thrown at a mailbox, damaging the post in the 2200 block of University Drive between 11 p.m. Nov. 22 and 7:40 a.m. Nov. 23.
A pumpkin damaged a mailbox post in the 2100 block of University Drive between 11:30 a.m. Nov. 22 and 7 a.m. Nov. 23.
A car was keyed while parked in a driveway in the 4100 block of Easy Circle between 11:30 p.m. Nov. 25 and 6:45 a.m. Nov. 26.
A vehicle’s tires were slashed causing $300 in damage in the 1600 block of Windward Court between 1 and 4 p.m. Nov. 26.
Interfering with/resisting police


A 48-year-old woman from East Alsip, New York, was arrested about 2:33 a.m. Nov. 27 in the 800 block of South Washington and charged with interfering with an officer.
A 23-year-old woman from the 1100 block of Richards Street was arrested at 12:45 a.m. Nov. 24 at Rollingridge Road and South Route 59 and charged with resisting a peace officer, operating an uninsured vehicle, speeding and obstructing justice.


A 23-year-old man from the 15900 block of South Dan O’Connell Drive, Plainfield, was arrested about 1:48 a.m. Nov. 28 at Redstart Road and South Washington Street and charged with possession of cannabis, DUI, improper lane usage and driving on a suspended/revoked license.
A 48-year-old woman from the 300 block of Chippewa Lane, West Chicago, was arrested at 2:58 p.m. Nov. 23 in the 1200 block of Hobson Road and charged with unlawful acquisition of controlled substance.
A 55-year-old woman from the 1500 block of Ogden Avenue, Downers Grove, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at West Ogden Avenue and Royal St. George and charged with possession of cannabis, DUI and failure to yield turning left.
A 24-year-old man from the 1300 block of Hall Court, Batavia, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. Nov. 25 near West Ogden and Fifth Avenue and charged with possession of cannabis.
Drug paraphernalia


A 26-year-old man from the 100 block of Tilden Lane, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 5:26 a.m. Nov. 27 in the 2700 block of Aurora Avenue and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
DUI


Police arrested 13 individuals for DUI between Nov. 23 and Nov. 27 in addition to those listed above who were arrested for both drug charges and DUI.
