Family of murdered hairstylist asks for help in finding killer

DALLAS, Texas - More than two weeks after a North Texas hairstylist was found dead in her charred car, her loved ones came together to grieve.
There have been no arrests in the murder of Elizabeth Lightfoot.
And her friends and family are still praying for answers.
The marquee outside Dallas' Lakewood Theater reads "Goodbye Baby."
Inside, friends and family of 22-year-old Elizabeth Lightfoot gathered to remember her life.
"You couldn't help but see her and smile, and just know that she wasn't ever judging you or anyone else, but incredibly genuine and loving all the time."
The Denton hairstylist was murdered on November 4th, her body found in her burning car behind a North Dallas shopping center.
Detectives say she died of carbon monoxide poisoning from the fire, but have not identified a motive or suspect.
"It's so hard, particularly when you know the person really well and know that she had no enemy in the world to understand what happened is really difficult," said Blake Lewis, the family's spokesman.
Those who knew Elizabeth shared stories and spoke about how accepting she was of everyone.
"I can't remember how many times i called Elizabeth crying and she was always there to come over, no questions asked."
The memorial included music and a photo tribute, all to say farewell to someone whose loving example will never be forgotten.

"Elizabeth was such a beautiful spirit and I think today was a real testament to that. There are so many people who loved her and a lot of people came out to support her today" said family friend Amanda Hill.

"She had such an amazing light about her it was sort of like moss to a flame. You were just attracted to her just visually but then when you got to know her she was just a beautiful person" said Ana Alvarado who is a former coworker of Elizabeth’s.

There were hugs, laughs, and a lot of tears. But perhaps no one was more moved by the service than Elizabeth's own family.

"It was beautiful and it was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful young woman who loved god and everybody else", said Barbara Lightfoot, Elizabeth’s mother.

With son Michael at her side, Elizabeth's mother is breaking her silence. Still heavy on everyone's mind is the fact that no arrests have been in Elizabeth's murder.

"I'm holding strong because I am determined as is the Dallas police department to find her; the individuals who are responsible for her death", Lightfoot said.

Elizabeth was last seen around 11:30 pm on November 3rd. She had been to dinner with friends at a restaurant in Farmers Branch. She left alone.

Around 2 a-m on November 4th, her car was found burning behind a real estate office off Preston Road. Her body was inside the car.

She died from smoke inhalation. Police say the fire was intentionally set. Police are trying to figure out who came in contact with Elizabeth in the moments leading up to her death.

"She was never the type of person to be in a violent situation and so this is the mystery that we have", Lightfoot said.

This family is also pleading with anyone who knows something about this murder to come forward.

"It's such a senseless crime against an individual who was here to make others happy", Lightfoot said.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case. If you have any information that can help, you're asked to call Dallas Police at 214-671-3662.
