Burglary arrests made after chase in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn.- Two burglary suspects have been arrested in Williamson County after a chase with police.

Officials with the Williamson County Sheriff Office arrested Adrian Davis, 34 and James Dubose, 22, after the two robbed a home on Bending Chestnut Road around ten o'clock Wednesday morning.

Two utility workers in the area heard a burglar alarm and called 911 after they saw Nissan pickup truck leave the home.

When a Williamson County Deputy spotted the truck he and another deputy laid out spike stripes on the road in an attempt to stop the truck. The suspects ran through the spike stripes and although the truck was damaged kept going.

The suspects fled down Southall Road in Williamson County where they drove the truck through a field, got out and ran.

A Williamson County Deputy chased the suspects and held them at gunpoint until backup arrived on the scene.

When police searched the suspect's truck they found a lawn mower, a safe, a flat screen TV, jewelry and a rifle.

Dispatchers at the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department received notice a burglar alarm had gone off at 5676 Bending Chestnut Rd., and they also had a witness report that two males had left the residence in a blue Nissan Titan pickup with a lawn mower in back, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sharon Pucket said.

Police set out spike strips on Carl Rd., and Carters Creek Pike, which slowed the truck down, but didn’t stop it.

At Southall Rd. and Carters Creek Pike, the individuals in the truck went into a field and jumped out near a creek, Puckett said.

Deputy Stephen Shaver chased them across a creek. Eventually Shaver held up his shotgun and yelled for the suspects to stop, which they did according to Puckett. Shaver then called for backup.

The suspects are still being booked and their names haven’t yet been released.

A safe was also among the items allegedly stolen. A rifle was recovered, but it wasn’t clear if it was stolen or already belonged to the suspects.

Davis and Dubois were each held in the Williamson County Detention Center on $11,000 bond each. They were scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on December 8, 2011.
