At a news conference, Banika Jones asked whoever had her daughter, Bianca, to drop her off at a hospital, church or even a drug store.
The 2-year-old went missing Friday morning when her father, Deandre Lane, said he was carjacked and a gunman drove off with his daughter still in the car. Detroit police recovered his car just minutes later, but there was no sign of the girl.
Lane was given a lie detector test, but police are not commenting on the results. Lane is being held on unrelated charges.
FBI profilers, city, county and state law enforcement are involved in the case.
A reward of $17,500 is being offered for Bianca’s safe return --$15,000 of the money was provided by an anonymous donor.
Detroit Police spokeswoman Eren Stephens said Saturday one person has donated $15,000 and CrimeStoppers of Michigan is offering $2,500 for information leading to the return of Bianca Jones.
Jones' mother and other family members plan to join Chief Ralph Godbee at an afternoon news conference.
Police are working with other agencies to find Bianca, last seen Friday in the city's New Center area.
Her father reported being carjacked at gunpoint around 9:45 a.m. The vehicle was recovered nearby with the empty child seat still inside.
Police have released a sketch of a suspect, described as a light-skinned, unshaven African-American man.
