NORTHVILLE, Mich. - A West Bloomfield man is dead after a hit and run accident in Northville.
25-year-old Josh Green passed away today from the injuries he sustained.
The accident happened on Griswold Street between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m this morning.
Green was walking in the bike lane. He was with several friends.
The driver took off after the accident.
The car is believed to be a dark colored Honda SUV. It should have front end damage according to Northville police.
Northville police said in a news release that the incident occurred about 1 a.m. as the man walked with a group of friends on Griswold Street.
The victim, who has not been identified, was struck from behind by a dark-colored Honda SUV, police said.
The man's friends chased the SUV on foot as it sped away. The SUV was last seen turning right, heading west on Main Street and then north on Hutton.
Police said the SUV likely has front passenger side damage, specifically to the passenger-side mirror.
The man was taken to Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills and died later Saturday, police said.
Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect's vehicle and driver to call 248 349 1234.
