Second person dies after Home Depot parking-lot crash

HYATTSVILLE, Md. - A second person has died from injuries sustained after a car lost control in the parking lot of Home Depot on Thanksgiving Day.

Prince George's County police say Jose Cristino Sanchez-Rosa, of Falls Church, Va, died Friday of his injuries. He's believed to be about 40-years-old.

The accident also killed 41-year-old Fredy Castillo-Leon of Hyattsville and injured five others, including the driver of the sedan.

Officials say two men entered the parking lot around 1:15 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, but then turned around when they noticed Home Depot was closed. As they started to leave, the driver -- a man in his 60s -- passed out behind the wheel.

Six people were taken to a hospital after they were hit by a car as it left the store's parking lot and 41-year-old Fredys Castillo-Giron of Hyattsville later died. The conditions of the other four people hit by the car were not available Sunday.

Police said the 79-year-old driver suffered a medical emergency. Police said they have not released the driver's name because he has not been charged with a crime.

An investigation into the crash continues, police said.
